Fat Grafting

Restoring lost volume for a fuller, more youthful face.

"

Restore lost volume for a fuller, more youthful face.

"Lifting alone cannot replace what time takes from beneath the skin. Volume that has been lost is best restored with the patient's own purified fat — that's what brings the dimension of the face back to life."

— Dr. Choi Dong-Il, Director

ABOUT

What Is Fat Grafting?

An autologous volume restoration procedure: the patient's own fat is purified and reinjected into areas where volume has been lost.

Natural Volume, Built From Your Own Fat

Fat is gently harvested from areas with extra reserves — most often the abdomen or thighs — and processed to isolate only the most viable cells. The refined fat is then reinjected into areas where volume has been lost or never quite developed.

Because the graft comes from your own body, there is no risk of rejection, and the result blends naturally into the surrounding tissue. The harvest site itself often benefits as well, with a subtle contouring effect.

※ Some reabsorption is a normal part of the process. We use only thoroughly purified fat to maximize graft survival.

CANDIDATES

Suitable Candidates

Five common situations in which fat grafting tends to be the right fit.

01

Hollowed cheeks or
temples that read as older

02

A flat forehead, glabella,
or nasolabial area

03

Fine lines and shadows
that deepen over time

04

Patients who prefer
autologous over synthetic filler

05

Patients who would also like
contouring at the donor site

CONCEPT · WHY FAT GRAFT

Aging hollows the face. Volume is what brings it back.

What aging takes from the face is the underlying volume beneath the skin, and the loss of that volume is what creates the shadows we associate with looking older. Replacing it precisely with the patient's own purified fat restores the dimension that time has taken away.

Fillers are enough? NO!
Done in one session? Often no.
Fat goes anywhere? NO!
Purified to the Cellular Level

Debris and unviable material are filtered out before injection so the highest possible proportion of cells survives.

Anatomical Precision

Microinjection that respects the underlying vessels and nerves, placed in small aliquots for an even, natural-looking result.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Won't all of the fat just get reabsorbed?
Some reabsorption is part of the natural process. We work with thoroughly purified fat to maximize graft survival, and the volume that has settled in by around six months is generally what holds long-term.
How does this differ from dermal filler?
Fillers use synthetic material that the body gradually breaks down. Fat grafting transfers your own living tissue. Once the cells settle in, the result is permanent and there is no risk of rejection.
Is one session usually enough?
It depends on the patient. A second touch-up at three to six months is sometimes recommended to fine-tune the result. Treating in stages tends to produce a more natural, balanced final outcome.
Where is the fat harvested from?
Most often the abdomen or thighs. The harvest is done in small, dispersed aliquots so the donor site remains smooth, and many patients see a subtle contouring benefit there as well.
How long does the swelling last?
Most of the noticeable swelling subsides within one to two weeks, though minor residual swelling can persist for up to a month. The final, settled result becomes apparent over three to six months.
Important InformationAs with any procedure, possible complications include bleeding, infection, inflammation, partial reabsorption, and asymmetry. Individual results vary. Please consult thoroughly with your surgeon to determine the right diagnosis and treatment.
