Lecture given on May 29, 2025.

I was invited to give a webinar — an online lecture for plastic surgeons — on lower-lid fat repositioning.

The technique uses the EZ-Tcon suture, distributed by Hans Biomed.

I currently serve as a key surgeon for this product and use it routinely in practice.

With age, lower-lid wrinkling becomes more pronounced — especially in patients with prominent fat pads. Various techniques have been developed to address this.

These methods have evolved over the years. Earlier approaches commonly fixated the fat to the skin externally.

That technique often required a return visit for suture removal and could occasionally cause skin irritation at the fixation site.

EZ-Tcon avoids these issues by anchoring the suture entirely beneath the skin.

Recovery time and downtime are both shorter, and the procedure itself is faster.

I emphasize this consistently — a faster surgery means less swelling and a better result.

The visible fat-bag transition smooths out, and the lower lid takes on a more youthful appearance.

The procedure takes under 30 minutes.

No return visit for suture removal is needed.

If fat grafting is also performed, the only follow-up needed is removal of a single suture at the umbilical donor site.
