Starting December 2021, I was appointed Academic Chair of the Eyelid Surgery Study Group of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS).

Over the next two years I plan to put real time into the Study Group and help move it forward.

There is also a fair amount of administrative work, so it will be a busy stretch.

I'm posting this to commit publicly — to keep the work from fizzling out, and to remind myself of the original intent later on.

Thank you to the colleague who sent the framed certificate. Mosaic added for privacy.

Goals for the two-year term:

1. Raise the academic level of eyelid surgery across plastic surgeons in Korea.

2. Discourage overly aggressive procedures through structured trial-and-error education.

3. Build a forum for sharing diverse case experience.

4. Push into less-explored areas of plastic surgery.

5. Document and consolidate the history and prior work of the Study Group.

6. Advance our understanding of less-known anatomic structures through cadaveric dissection.

7. Encourage publication in academic journals.

I will work hard to live up to the trust placed in me.
