Can buried sutures be removed without an incision?

If you are unhappy after the buried-suture method and want it undone,

It can be reversed by removing the buried sutures.
There is one thing to be aware of.
Only patients whose original surgery was performed with the single-knot continuous technique
can undergo buried suture removal!
You are probably wondering how buried sutures are removed.
Some patients ask whether we remove them through an incision.
We do not.

openings, with no damage to the tissue.
Most patients chose the buried-suture method in the first place
because they preferred it to the incisional method,
so having to choose an incision just to remove those sutures
would be a great shame.
That is why patients themselves tend to prefer having the buried sutures
removed through the smallest possible openings.
Of course, removing the buried sutures cannot make the eyes exactly
as they were when they had no fold, but in most cases they come close.
Some of you may then be thinking: the fold rarely comes undone
immediately after surgery, so how can I tell that the threads
have actually been removed?

Others may wonder whether removing the threads
is the end of it.
Since the buried-suture method — the procedure that creates the fold —
involves no separate suture-removal step afterwards,

a step of placing a single stitch so that the opening
does not leave a scar.
For that reason, unlike the buried-suture procedure that creates a fold,
patients who have had buried suture removal
need to come in once more after three days to have the stitch taken out.
