Hello!

For surgery with high patient satisfaction,

always doing our very best —

this is Gangnam Seoyon Plastic Surgery :)

Today, we would like to look into Dr. Choi Dong-il of Gangnam Seoyon Plastic Surgery and his

buried-suture release, buried release, and buried-suture removal.

Buried-suture removal is a procedure done after having double-eyelid surgery by the buried-suture (non-incision) method,

when you want to undo the double eyelid again.

What kind of surgery this is, what the surgical method is,

and how the swelling is after surgery —

we will explain all of this today.

The photos below have had no retouching at all,

other than brightness adjustment :)

Among patients who have had the buried-suture method,

sometimes the double eyelid is not to their liking,

or an unwanted eyelid shape results,

and they wish to return to their original state.

In such cases, buried-suture release and buried-suture removal are performed.

The surgical method is as follows.

We make about 2 to 3 small openings of roughly 2 mm each.

Then, using Dr. Choi Dong-il's own original technique,

we locate the suture while minimizing tissue damage as much as possible.

Suturing is not strictly necessary, but we still suture to minimize scarring.

Swelling varies from person to person, but in most cases there is no significant swelling, and occasionally there may be bruising.

Also, the double eyelid may appear not to have released up to the first week, but in most cases it seems to release by around the one-month mark.

It would be helpful to refer to the swelling, bruising, and post-surgery progress shown here.

Looking at the pre-surgery photo, if you forcibly raise the line on someone with this kind of skin sagging, the result becomes unnatural.

For this patient, after suture removal we reset the double-eyelid line again using the buried-suture method.

We will now explain the points to be careful about when undergoing buried-suture removal.

1. This surgery removes the suture, so there is a possibility that the double eyelid may not release.

However, in most cases it does release.

2. There is also always a possibility that the suture cannot be removed,

but with Dr. Choi Dong-il's original technique based on extensive surgical experience,

in most cases it can be removed.

3. Removing a buried-suture double-eyelid thread through a small opening is not an easy task,

so it is best to have the surgery done by an experienced doctor.

4. Finally, buried-suture removal is only possible with the single-knot method

that uses just one thread.

Regarding buried-suture release and buried-suture removal,

you can find more detailed information through the video below.
