Male Single-Eyelid Ptosis Correction · Hidden-Fold Surgery for Men

It's been a while since I posted on male single-eyelid ptosis correction.

When I first presented this procedure at a conference in 2017, almost no clinic was performing it. The technique took off rapidly after that presentation.

I went on to write up the work and submit it as an SCI paper,

which was published in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (Springer), the official journal of ISAPS.

It's the procedure for men whose iris is partially covered by the lid: we open up the eye without creating a visible crease.

Some patients in this group genuinely need ptosis correction; others do not.

This patient's iris looks heavily covered, but the obstruction is from skin alone — lifting the brow reveals an underlying eye that is actually a normal size. This is what's known as pseudo-ptosis.

In cases like this, no ptosis correction is needed. A low, hidden crease combined with conservative removal of redundant skin opens the eye visibly.

The result came out well — a satisfying case.
