Many patients ask about the swelling timeline after incisional double-eyelid surgery during consultation.
Does the incisional method swell more than the buried-suture method? The answer is no.
Swelling depends mostly on how the crease is designed, and partly on technique. By technique, I mean meticulous hemostasis. That said, even when hemostasis is imperfect and swelling lingers longer, the final endpoint at six months is essentially the same. The recovery is just rougher to live through.
Pre-op.
One week post-op.
