Online reviews labeled "failed double-eyelid surgery" or "botched double-eyelid surgery" are not uncommon.

Some are genuine complications. Many are simply post-op swelling that has not yet resolved.

This is a case referred to us from another clinic.

We did an early revision on this patient. The photo shown here is at six months post-op of that revision.

Generally, we wait until at least six months out from the original surgery before performing a revision.

But when the appearance is severe enough that normal social life is not possible, or when waiting clearly does more harm than acting, we proceed with an early revision.

This patient came to us with thick eyelids and noticeable lash eversion after surgery elsewhere, and we revised at one month post-op.

All else being equal, waiting six months remains the better default.

This last set of photos is at 10 days post-op of a revision in a patient who had been operated on years earlier. We added a lower canthoplasty at the same sitting.

Here is the case on video.
