Lower Eyelid Fat Repositioning · Improving Lower-Lid Bulges and Dark Circles

It has been a while since my last post. Today I will summarize a lecture I gave on this topic.

This is from a lecture I gave at the May 2022 Continuing Education Course for Board-Certified Plastic Surgeons.

The Korean title of the lecture translates to "Transconjunctival Lower Blepharoplasty."

"Transconjunctival" means the approach goes through the conjunctiva — in other words, the surgery is performed from the inside of the lower eyelid.

The procedure is designed for cases like this, where the lower lid sits prominently bulged.

The approach goes through the conjunctiva on the inner surface of the eyelid.

Once we are working through the conjunctiva, I prefer to use the suture shown here for the repositioning step.

For reference, I am a key opinion leader (KOL) for the technique that uses this suture material.

The suture is called EZ-Tcon.

The technique itself is straightforward. In simplified terms, we use the suture to anchor the lower edge of the fat tissue down into a more natural position.

I will go over the details in person at consultation.

A representative case.
