Creating a Natural Out-Fold Double Eyelid: Asian Blepharoplasty Forum 2019

This was my talk at the Asian Blepharoplasty Forum, held during the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS) meeting on November 10, 2019.

The title was 'Creating a Natural Out-Fold Double Eyelid' — a discussion of how I approach the out-fold design.

It was the international session, so I shared the panel with overseas speakers — talk in English, discussion in English.

This is roughly what an out-fold looks like.

The keys to the technique are keeping the scar shallow and avoiding the heavy, sausage-like fullness above the crease.

And, more than anything, choosing a patient whose anatomy actually suits an out-fold.

Hiding the scar takes a specific technique.

The trick is in the closure — but I will save the details for the lecture room.
