Before and After: Eyelid Retraction and the Scar-Preserving High Fold Correction

Today, from Dr. Choi Dong-il of Gangnam Seoyon Plastic Surgery,

we will show you before-and-after photos of eyelid retraction and the scar-preserving high fold correction (the "two-line" technique) :)

other than brightness adjustment :)

First, eyelid-retraction correction is needed when an eye-shape (ptosis) correction has been overcorrected

so that the iris ends up exposed too much,

and it is the surgical method required in such cases.

When an eye-shape correction has been overcorrected, simply

releasing the eye-shape correction does not bring things back to normal;

instead, the Müller's muscle beneath the eye-opening levator, and

the conjunctiva below it, are all dissected,

and then a fresh eye-shape correction is performed.

This is the appearance before surgery.

The left eye was overcorrected,

so the amount of iris exposure differed

and the eyes looked asymmetric,

which she wanted to improve.

After the eyelid-retraction and scar-preserving high fold correction,

this is the appearance at 7 months.
