Some male actors are praised for looking cool with sunken eyelids and multiple folds.
But those blessed few are a minority; most people just get asked whether they are tired.
They have the same multiple-fold eyelids, so why is that?
On top of that, opening the eyes gets more tiring as time goes on, so it is hard to tell whether the multiple folds or the fatigue came first.

First, what exactly is this thing called by various names such as 'multiple folds' or 'double-crease eyelids'?
It refers to double eyelids forming in several layers.

For some, it occurs because the eyelid skin is naturally thin.
For others, it occurs because of protruding eyes.
In some people, multiple folds develop as their existing double eyelids weaken or come loose.
People whose eye-opening strength is weak due to ptosis can also develop multiple-fold eyelids.
In older individuals, it can occur as aging causes the skin to sag or wrinkles to form around the eyes.

Are you confused by all these different causes?
But we can only find the right solution for you once we know the exact cause!

1. When the eyelid skin is naturally thin
2. When eye-opening strength is weak due to ptosis
3. Multiple-fold eyelids caused by aging

To resolve multiple folds, we recommend having surgery sooner rather than later.
If left alone, the multiple folds can worsen or become permanently set in that state.
It is best to have surgery in advance, before the depth of the folds or the degree of adhesion becomes more severe.
